Yes, you can live in first love for the Bridegroom-King

it is COMPLETELY possible

There’s going to be a wedding.

In the intricate dance of earthly weddings, the bride and groom immerse themselves in a symphony of preparations, each note resonating with the anticipation of their special day.

The bride dedicates not mere days, but months and sometimes years, to the pursuit of the perfect wedding gown—a garment that will weave tales of love as she gracefully walks the aisle toward her cherished groom.

Amidst the delicate threads and fabrics, a tapestry of excitement unfolds. Her mind becomes a sanctuary, filled with visions of that imminent day—the day when she, adorned in the elegance of her chosen gown, will embark on a journey to her beloved, pledged to him until their final breath.

This chapter of preparation is a canvas painted with the hues of anticipation and the fragrance of dreams coming to life.

It is a beautiful interlude, a harmonious prelude to the symphony of love that will echo through their shared existence.

And now, let’s shift our focus to the celestial announcement: the wedding of all weddings - the marriage between Christ and His bride.

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come...” Revelation 19:7

Are you getting ready?

“... and His bride has made herself ready.”

Revelation 19:7

Your wedding day is coming up and you have preparations to complete.

Preparing for your divine wedding with the Bridegroom, includes an intricate dance of faith, obedience, and intimate communion with Him.

The tapestry of preparation is woven with threads of holiness, repentance, and spiritual purity, adorned with plenty of fruits such as love, joy, and self-control.

Active participation in God's kingdom, alignment with His will, and a commitment to serve others set the stage for a life poised for the grand celebration.

With eyes fixed on the horizon of eternity, watchfulness and eager anticipation become the rhythm, orchestrating a symphony of transformation guided by the divine maestro Himself, the Holy Spirit.

Your soul becomes a canvas, continually painted with the strokes of readiness, a masterpiece that resonates with the heartbeat of the Bride, yearning for the day when the heavenly Bridegroom will descend in the fullness of His kingdom.

The wedding of the ages awaits, where Christ and His beloved bride unite in an eternal dance of love. In this grand narrative, my dear, your presence is not merely incidental but pivotal.

Why you may ask?

“Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” Revelation 21:9

You are a part of the bride.

Just as we are many members of His one Body, we are, also, many hearts of His one bride.

Jesus formed a covenant of love with each member of His Body, male and female, who is a part of His bride, the wife of the Lamb.

Because of this, we each have the capacity and ability to possess first love, a bridal love, for our Bridegroom-King, Jesus.

“For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God Himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one Husband—Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:2

There is an importance of your role in this majestic affair, where the Lamb and His cherished bride, adorned in the radiant garments of eternal devotion, become one in a symphony of love that echoes through the corridors of eternity.

First love, bridal love, is your calling.

What is ‘First love’?

The way we define ‘First love’ is love for Jesus that stands above every other love and devotion.

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:26

It’s love for Jesus that places Him and what He says high above everyone else - even yourself- along with preference and priority for what He says, thinks, and feels above all else.

First love involves a wholehearted devotion, commitment, and passionate pursuit of Jesus’ heart which displays itself in how a person lives their life both publicly and privately.

Privately, it involves sincere and heartfelt communication with Jesus allowing your heart to be naked and available to Him, giving Him all access to your heart, mind, emotions and feelings.

Publicly, it involves living a life of sacrificially loving others, denying and dying to yourself, humility in the sight of others, selflessness, gentleness, preferring others more than yourself, and more…all because you love Him who loved you first.

This life of bridal love, first love for Jesus, is a life continually pursuing Jesus and His heart.

This looks like living a life of purity, holiness and love, preparing yourself for the Coming of your Bridegroom. This looks like having a fervent desire to know Him more intimately, to experience His presence, and to align one's life with His teachings and will.

You may not be this way right now and that’s okay. The only thing that matters is your answer to this question: do you want to be this way?

I can tell that your answer is ‘yes’. Don’t worry about how you’ll transform or about how long it’ll take, that’s all Jesus’ responsibility. Your responsibility is to answer His call and have a heart that says “yes, Lord.”

Jesus is calling you to first love

When it comes to choosing between Jesus and another person or thing, Jesus desires that you choose Him.

Jesus gave Himself unreservedly for you and now He yearns that you give yourself completely to Him - all that you are and with all that you have. He wants your entire heart, love, and devotion.

Just as the love reflected in an earthly marriage is exclusive and unrivaled - the husband's love and devotion to his wife and vice versa - so Jesus longs that your love for Him will be exclusive and unrivaled…because His love for you is that way.

In an earthly marriage, if comforts, dreams, children, parents, possessions, etc. mean more to you than your earthly husband does, then your earthly husband does not have your first love. If you would sacrifice your husbands desires and wants because you desire or want your possessions, comforts more or you love your dreams, parents, or children more, then your earthly husband does not have your first love.

In the same way, if your comforts, dreams, family, earthly husband, possessions, etc. mean more to you than your heavenly Husband does, and so you sacrifice Jesus’ desires and commands to please yourself or your earthly husband, then first love for Jesus is absent.

He is

more than worthy of your

first love.

There is no one more glorious, majestic, tender, mighty, yet merciful and kind as Jesus is. There is no human love that can compare with Jesus’ love, which is so tender, intimate, fervent and strong.

Jesus knows what He can give with His love. He knows just how much His love can deeply satisfies and fulfills you. This, and more, is why He has the right to ask you to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Matthew 22:37).

He wants your whole heart, your whole life. He desires you to withhold nothing from Him. He wants you to devote your whole life to belonging to Him & being His own special possession (1 Peter 2:9).

This is what He has waiting for you and this is what He longs for you to step into.

where to now?
